XC90 Gets 5 - Paw review !!! Dogs love it!
Please let me just get this off my chest and then go befriend a river or something: I wanted to steal my Volvo XC90 test vehicle. They had to wrestle the keys from my hand. Here’s why:
•It’s beautiful, inside and out. I whistled under my breath in appreciation when they brought it to me, and I kept smiling at it coquettishly when I would see it in the driveway in the morning. Inside, it’s classy.
•It’s beautiful to drive. Smooth, powerful and quiet. Inside, you feel pampered, and oh, safe. It IS a Volvo, after all.
•It’s roomy, with lots of space for crates and gear. No problem here. My tester had taupe leather, and light carpet in the back. Black dogs in my house, so I would go dark on the upholstery. Otherwise, mmmmm-mmmm comfortable. The lumbar support was the best yet. (OK, I admit it: I’m getting old!)

•Volvo will drop its V70 wagon from the U.S. lineup for the 2011 model year.

Popular Mechanics Test Drive of the NEW XC60 Diesel
The all-new Volvo 2010 XC60 we test-drove recently is the company's newest entry into the growing class of compact luxury SUVs. We're certainly impressed by the handling dynamics and the standard safety tech. But with a growing emphasis on fuel-economy performance these days, we not only wanted to know how the newest Volvo performs over several tankfuls, but how it compares to the diesel version available in Europe. The "D5" diesel in our test model does not meet U.S. emissions standards. But we hear Volvo may introduce a new clean diesel at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show in March. That diesel engine could come to the U.S. next year as a 2011 XC60 model.

For some reason many people still look down upon the diesel engine, citing billowing clouds of black smoke as their reason. However, today's diesels are much cleaner and offer a great amount of efficiency when used properly. Volvo is out to make this message even clearer with the introduction of their newest lineup of diesel engines.
